The Branson Market  did not avoid the national downturn in the real estate market, but it is recovering. We still have a lot of people wanting to move here but are unsuccessful in selling their current home or are waiting until the market improves. We do have good news. 1) The value of our homes have only dropped 20%. 2) We had homes that were overpriced in 2009 and they are coming down. 3) The interest rates are still at 2003 lows and credit is readily available without high credit scores. 4) We have a good inventory which benefits the buyers. 5) We are selling property every day. 6) Commercial properties and land seem to be only slightly down in selling prices. 7) Almost all sellers are willing to consider reasonable offers. 8) Repo properties have increased which offers the bargain hunter some real opportunities. 9) Few Investors are stepping up to the plate to take advantage of these great investment opportunities. Residential Investment properties can be purchased 30% - 60% below 2008 values. 10) Pre-foreclosures or Short Sales are becoming a larger part of the market which means more great deals. It just takes time.
